The main goal of the project is to create a new proactive and structured business cooperation model in the bioproduct sector in the province, which flexibly and quickly produces information about the perceived challenges and needs of companies in the sector, both for universities operating in the region and for all research activities needed by the province. The new contract-based business cooperation model also ensures the commitment of companies and educational institutions in the sector to the long-term development of the sector. In addition, the project aims to create new opportunities for research activities in Satakunta using the new business cooperation model and practical research needs. Research activities attract students in the sector to the province, who are potential new experts for Satakunta’s bioeconomy companies and research organizations. RDI activities built on the needs of the region’s business community will bring new product and process innovations based on research knowledge to the province.
The project supports the successful implementation of the objectives set out in Satakunta’s Just Transition Plan (JTF Plan).
