The Closer to the Plate project aims to enhance food producers’ ability to leverage public procurement opportunities and improve their response to public tenders in Southwest Finland. It also focuses on developing the skills of public procurement officials, fostering cooperation, and strengthening dialogue between buyers and local food producers and processors.

The project includes:
- A series of events bringing together buyers (processors, trade, public buyers) and producers to discuss ways to increase the resilience of regional food production
- A market survey on new products in the region
- A study on food chain supply security and the challenges of demand and supply in Southwest Finland
