Monitoring and restoration practices safeguarding the condition of water bodies (Seutuvesi)

The project aims to acquire equipment for the Satakunta region to promote and monitor the state of the environment. The project is being implemented by Pyhäjärvi Institute.

The equipment acquired through the project (including a water quality buoy and a weather station) enables the rapid, real-time generation of data regarding the condition of water bodies and changes in weather conditions. This real-time data facilitates the planning and implementation of development work in areas such as water protection, agriculture, commercial fisheries, and the recreational use of nature services. The stations measure parameters including water temperature, turbidity, algal abundance (chlorophyll-a), air temperature, wind speed and direction, and precipitation.

In addition, the project involves the acquisition of a mowing bucket, which will help enhance the effectiveness of water protection measures at previously implemented catchment area sites.
