The aim of the project is to investigate the suitability of freshwater mussels for commercial fisheries, food industry and other industries. In addition, the aim is to investigate the impacts of mussel farming on water quality. The project produces background information and capabilities for introducing Nordic freshwater mussels into the food industry.
