During the project, restoration measures are planned for and implemented in the upper parts of the River Karvianjoki catchment area. The aim is to reduce the nutrient load and flood sensitivity, improve the water bodies and fish stocks, and increase biodiversity. The focus is on the comprehensive development of water management in agriculture and forestry, which includes enhancement of catchment-based water management, adaptation to changing climate and consolidation of cooperation networks. The above-mentioned themes will be tackled together with the landowners, agricultural producers, forest industry, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
